Results Gymkhana Elections ‘09

VICE PRESIDENT

After a recount that had everyone waiting with bated breath, Shubham Matah has won the election by a margin of 19 votes (SM – 1880, DG – 1861). The official notice from the Gymkhana will be out shortly.

UPDATE : Although there is no official notice on the status of debarred candidates Akshay Sharma (RK) and Abhimanyu Dikshit (RK), both their names are present on the ballot paper and votes can be cast in their favour. Again, there is no official notice or confirmation regarding their reinstatement.

Clarification from TSA : The Elocution Gold was Open IIT and not Inter Hall

  1. Establishment of a body for student’s welfare with 3 major objectives:

    a) To establish a centralised mechanism for providing students an opportunity to work under professors in their projects during summer and winter breaks.

    b) Providing a stipend for such students.

    c) Formalising a training procedure for final placements by means of GDs, Assessment Tests and Interviews.

  2. Collaboration with NGOs to educate students and provide internship opportunities
  3. Introduction of Department Representatives in the Traninig and Placement Committee to make the placement process more effective and penetrative. (Proposal clarified by candidate)

The Gymkhana elections shall be held on the 3rd of April 2009 (Friday). The Statement of Purpose schedule is as follows. Students are encouraged to attend the SOP box in large numbers.
