COP16, Mexico

Climate change has annexed the foremost bullet point of every major intellectual meet worldwide. A phenomenon as profound as this needs to be addressed from all strata of society and academia.

The sixteenth Conference of Parties (COP16) is coming up and Indian Youth Climate Network (IYCN) is getting geared to send their third youth delegation to an international summit. In 2008, the first Indian youth delegation was sent to COP14 in Poznan, Poland and in 2009, 20 young Indians attended COP15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. COP15 was subject to much publicity and criticism across the globe.

Copenhagen Summit

The 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) is being held at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark from 7-18 December, 2009. Given the drastic turn of events the world seems to be facing due to global warming, it is essential for the summit to provide a convenient platformLOGO for all countries to reach a coherent solution and act fast before it’s too late. Now, more than ever, we need to stand united in order to ensure that the forces of nature remain conducive to existence. The conference is seeing many Indian students addressing it, too, who also write a daily blog to provide us with regular updates. Keep following the box above for the latest.
