Achievements:
- Won an individual Gold medal in Triple jump and a Silver medal in 4x100m relay in the Inter-Hall Athletics Meet 2009.
- Represented IIT Kharagpur as a member of its Football team which won Bronze medal in the 45TH Inter-IIT sports meet and Silver medal in Shaurya 2009.
- Member of the Gold winning team in the Inter-Hall English dramatics event 2010.
- Holding the post of Football Secretary of Lala Lajpat Rai Hall of Residence for the academic session 2009-2010.
- Maintained a CGPA of 9.63 in the Department of Electrical Engineering with an Institute rank of 2 after the third semester.
Proposals:
- To increase incentive awards for best individual performances by introducing new awards through Alumni funding. The purpose of this proposal is to ensure that more students take part in sports than they had in the recent past. As the participation of the students will increase, the talent pool of students in various sports and games will also increase. It will encourage increased involvement of sports enthusiast alumni in Gymkhana.
- To improve performance of IIT Kharagpur in the forthcoming Inter-IIT sports meet:-
A. Appointing captains and vice captains for Inter-IIT sports meet as well as Shaurya at the start of the tenure. There will be a meeting between the PTI’s , the captains of all the sports and games, General Secretary Sports and Games and the Technology Students Gymkhana President every 2 weeks to ensure that proper practice takes place for inter IIT Sports Meet. This will also increase the accountability of the captain.
B. Providing gymnasium slot as a part of the Inter-IIT practice session in the Modern Gymnasium, for Inter IIT probables of outdoor games during off-season. This will help in proper fitness of the players even in the rainy season when the practice in the fields does not take place.
- Increasing the participation of the teams of IIT Kharagpur in inter-university and inter-college sports tournaments. This will help in the exposure of the teams of IIT Kharagpur and also act as extra match practice for our Inter-IIT teams.
