45th Inter-IIT Championship Results

The Inter-IIT Sporting Championships turned out to be a big disappointment for Kgp as IIT Kharagpur could not manage to come in the Top 4 in either the Men’s or the Women’s categories. Kgp finished 6th in the men’s category and 5th in the women’s. For a detailed performance review, watch out for our next print issue.

Call for entries for the 4th International Short Film Festival of India 2010

The DBICA presents International Short Film Festival of India, now in its 4th year, is the largest and most highly attended short film festival in Chennai. The 2 day festival presents over 70 International and National Short films from more than 22 countries, to an audience of 42,000. SFFI is best known for its diverse and cosmopolitan balance of film that ranges from variety of genres like drama, documentary, animation, comedy, science fiction and mystery.

DBICA is the parent organization of the SFFI. It is a non-profit Media and Communication Arts organization that presents the best in world’s short film cinema to audiences in Chennai. The forthcoming 4th International Short Film Festival of India 2010 will be held on 13th and 14th February 2010. Copenhagen Summit

The 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) is being held at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark from 7-18 December, 2009. Given the drastic turn of events the world seems to be facing due to global warming, it is essential for the summit to provide a convenient platformLOGO for all countries to reach a coherent solution and act fast before it’s too late. Now, more than ever, we need to stand united in order to ensure that the forces of nature remain conducive to existence. CodeChef Campus SnackDown

CodeChef, an online programming competition host (akin to an Indian version of TopCoder),  is holding an ACM ICPC style contest for students starting 21st November. With a prize budget of Rs. 3 lakhs, this event promises to be quite the competitive challenge even despite being held in the middle of exam-season.

Vigyan Jyoti Programme at JNU, New Delhi

The Vigyan Jyoti Programme is a science camp which will be held between 13th and 15th October, 2009 at JNU, New Delhi. Those who are interested in attending the above program are requested to send their application (enclose: CV*, I-card xerox, and AIR 2009 letter) through their respective HODs to Dean UGS by September 7, 2009. All expenses travel (ie 3 tier AC or II class Chair car), free boarding and lodging at JNU, plus Rs 100 per day as allowance will be provided by KVPY.
