Events Outside Kgp

Climate change has annexed the foremost bullet point of every major intellectual meet worldwide. A phenomenon as profound as this needs to be addressed from all strata of society and academia.

The sixteenth Conference of Parties (COP16) is coming up and Indian Youth Climate Network (IYCN) is getting geared to send their third youth delegation to an international summit. In 2008, the first Indian youth delegation was sent to COP14 in Poznan, Poland and in 2009, 20 young Indians attended COP15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. COP15 was subject to much publicity and criticism across the globe.

We, at ScholsAve, did an extensive coverage of COP15 and the general outline can be obtained here:

There lies a grave need for quality representation from a country as populous and as diverse as ours. COP16 will be held in Mexico from November 29 to December 10, 2010 and IYCN are looking for 8 stellar young people who are passionate and committed to the cause of tackling climate change for their team. Attending a COP is an amazing experience – you have the opportunity to impact the negotiations and to contribute to the growing youth climate movement. Its also a big commitment so if you’re ready to dedicate the next few months to the summit, please fill out the attached application form which is available for download at www.iycn.in.
