The second edition of IIT Kharagpur’s annual sports and games meet, Shaurya, was held from 23rd-26th October. It saw participation from 12 colleges ranging from NIT Trichy to ISM Dhanbad. Girls’ participation was seen for the first time in table tennis, basketball and badminton. NIT Trichy were the overall winners and almost completed a clean sweep of the events, but were thwarted by hosts IIT Kharagpur. Apart from the mainstream sport events, there were plenty of fun events like mini golf, kabaddi, anti chess, ‘foot’ pool and an innovative archery workshop by Tata Archery Academy, which was a grand success. The Marathon witnessed decent participation too. The participants in general were satisfied with the transportation and accommodation facilities and enjoyed the space and grandeur that Kharagpur’s campus provides.
